Lubricant Base Oils
HD Hyundai Shell Base Oil was established in April 2012 as a joint venture between HD Hyundai Oilbank, a leading domestic refining company, and Shell plc, a British–Dutch multinational energy group. In the second half of 2024, we completed the construction of a lubricant base oil production plant at the Daesan Petrochemical Complex in Chungcheongnam-do, Korea, and commenced commercial operations shortly thereafter. Today, we process approximately 25,000 barrels of highly refined petroleum feedstock per day to produce high-quality lubricant base oils, supplying them to customers in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Lubricant Base Oils
HD Hyundai Shell Base Oil produces API Group II 70 Neutral, 150 Neutral, and 500 Neutral base oils, supplying them to industrial customers and finished lubricant manufacturers worldwide. To meet increasingly diverse customer needs, we have also expanded our product portfolio to include blending products, such as Group II 100 Neutral and Group II 2 cst. These premium lubricant base oils serve as essential feedstocks for a wide range of lubricant applications, from automotive and marine engine oils to industrial oils used across multiple industries. Each product delivers superior performance, characterized by excellent low-temperature fluidity, high color clarity, low volatility, and outstanding thermal stability.
