The merger of South Korea’s heavyweights HD Hyundai Infracore and Hyundai Construction Equipment at the start of 2026 created a new big name in original equipment manufacturing: HD Construction Equipment. Now both brands of the predecessor companies, Hyundai and Develon, fall under the watchful eye of HDCE’s president and chief executive officer, JaeYoung Moon.

The new organisation is gearing up to take on the big names in mining equipment, keeping both historic brands, but integrating supply chains and research and development, particularly for large, mining-focused machines. Moon shared HDCE’s plans for growth and the advantages that this newly integrated company offers its business and its customers in mining.
